Shelter volunteers, fosters and staff around the country (USA) use the free AdoptMeApp app to add captioned photos and videos in diary form to the shelters’ online profiles for adoptable pets. (AdoptMeApp is also free to shelters.)
In 2024 AdoptMeApp became part of our new 501(c)(3) non-profit organization named Animal Welfare Apps. AdoptMeApp is our first app, more soon.

Why support AdoptMeApp?
- AdoptMeApp is free to animal shelters, but we do have expenses of approx. $500/month, so we need funding to cover those expenses. The expenses are primarily for internet-related services e.g. server hosting, blog hosting, domain names, Apple Store yearly fee, etc. If just 100 users donated $5 a month we would be on solid financial footing.
- The AdoptMeApp team is all volunteer-based. No payments are made to our team of six (Cynthia, Rob, Frank, Matthew, John, Frederic). We developed and run AdoptMeApp to help animal shelter volunteers, fosters and staff to easily provide more information about the available pets, thus helping the pets get adopted, fostered, or rescued. We are thrilled that AdoptMeApp is active in so many partner shelters.
- A stable funding stream allows AdoptMeApp to not only continue to operate for our existing partner shelters, but also provide the resources necessary to add more partner shelters, maintain our system and add new features. Currently there are approximately 6,000 AdoptMeApp postings per month and a total of over 372K postings since launch, and the AdoptMeApp pet diaries are viewed 750,000 times per month!
We are also looking for corporate sponsors. Our first sponsor was AdoptAPet and with their gift we have been able to continue through 2025. But that funding runs out in June 2026.
